Syncing Across Devices

Marinaid uses iCloud to keep your recipes, collections, meal plans, and grocery lists in sync across all your Apple devices.

  • iCloud account — you must be signed into the same iCloud account on all devices.
  • iCloud Drive enabled — go to Settings[your name]iCloudiCloud Drive and make sure it’s on.
  • Marinaid iCloud access — in the same iCloud settings, scroll down to Apps Using iCloud and make sure Marinaid is enabled.
  • Marinaid syncs automatically in the background whenever you have a network connection.
  • Changes you make on one device appear on your other devices within seconds to a few minutes.
  • If you’re offline, changes are queued and sync when connectivity is restored.
  • Sync is private — your data is stored in your personal iCloud account. Marinaid has no server-side access to your recipes.
Problem Solution
Recipes not appearing on second device Make sure both devices are signed into the same iCloud account and have Marinaid iCloud access enabled
Sync seems slow Check your network connection; iCloud sync can be delayed on cellular
Duplicate recipes after sync Pull down to refresh; duplicates should resolve automatically
Changes lost after editing on two devices Marinaid uses last-write-wins — the most recent edit is kept

Marinaid supports sharing your recipe library with household members. Go to AccountHousehold to invite family members. Shared recipes appear in everyone’s library and stay in sync.
