Syncing Across Devices
Marinaid uses iCloud to keep your recipes, collections, meal plans, and grocery lists in sync across all your Apple devices.
Requirements
- iCloud account — you must be signed into the same iCloud account on all devices.
- iCloud Drive enabled — go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → iCloud Drive and make sure it’s on.
- Marinaid iCloud access — in the same iCloud settings, scroll down to Apps Using iCloud and make sure Marinaid is enabled.
How sync works
- Marinaid syncs automatically in the background whenever you have a network connection.
- Changes you make on one device appear on your other devices within seconds to a few minutes.
- If you’re offline, changes are queued and sync when connectivity is restored.
- Sync is private — your data is stored in your personal iCloud account. Marinaid has no server-side access to your recipes.
Troubleshooting sync
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| Recipes not appearing on second device | Make sure both devices are signed into the same iCloud account and have Marinaid iCloud access enabled |
| Sync seems slow | Check your network connection; iCloud sync can be delayed on cellular |
| Duplicate recipes after sync | Pull down to refresh; duplicates should resolve automatically |
| Changes lost after editing on two devices | Marinaid uses last-write-wins — the most recent edit is kept |
Household sharing
Marinaid supports sharing your recipe library with household members. Go to Account → Household to invite family members. Shared recipes appear in everyone’s library and stay in sync.
