Importing Recipes

MarinAid can import recipes from websites, social media posts, and even photos of handwritten recipe cards.

From a website URL

  1. Copy the recipe URL from your browser.
  2. Open MarinAid and tap the + button.
  3. Tap Import from URL and paste the link.
  4. MarinAid parses the page and extracts the recipe automatically.

From Safari or another app (Share Sheet)

  1. While viewing a recipe in Safari, Instagram, TikTok, or any app, tap the Share button.
  2. Select MarinAid from the share sheet.
  3. The recipe is imported directly into your library.

From a photo

  1. Tap the + button and select Import from Photo.
  2. Take a photo of a recipe card, cookbook page, or screenshot.
  3. MarinAid uses on-device OCR to read the text and structure it as a recipe.

Supported sites

MarinAid supports thousands of recipe websites. It works best with sites that use structured recipe data (JSON-LD or Microdata). Most popular recipe blogs and cooking sites are supported.

After import

Review the imported recipe — you can edit the title, ingredients, instructions, servings, and more before saving.
