Using Your Pantry
Your pantry keeps track of staples you already have on hand — dry goods, spices, and other items you don’t want cluttering your shopping list every week.
Opening your pantry
Section titled “Opening your pantry”Tap the cabinet icon in the top-left corner of the Groceries tab to open your pantry.
Adding items
Section titled “Adding items”- Scan your shelf — tap the camera icon in your pantry to scan shelves with your camera. Marinaid reads product labels on-device and adds what it finds.
- Add manually — tap + and type the item name.
Shelf scan requires Apple Intelligence to read what’s on the labels. If Apple Intelligence isn’t supported on your device, or is turned off, the camera icon is dimmed and tapping it explains why rather than opening the camera. You can enable Apple Intelligence in Settings, if your device supports it. Adding items manually works on every device.
Moving items between your pantry and grocery list
Section titled “Moving items between your pantry and grocery list”- On any item in your grocery list, swipe or open the menu and choose Move to Pantry to mark it as something you already have. It’s removed from your shopping list and from Instacart orders, but stays tracked in your pantry.
- To send an item back to your active grocery list when you run low, find it under Items in Pantry on the Groceries tab, then swipe or open the menu and choose Remove from Pantry.
Pantry items and recipes
Section titled “Pantry items and recipes”When you add a recipe’s ingredients to your grocery list, any ingredient that matches something in your pantry is set aside under Items in Pantry instead of being added to your shopping list automatically. If you’re actually out of it, tap it to move it onto the shopping list.
- Keep your pantry up to date so recipes don’t add ingredients you already have to your shopping list.
- Your pantry syncs across your devices and with your household via iCloud, just like your grocery list.
